We let go and let God

We sold away stuff and disposed
And we just packed what we need
And loaded everything in the car
Off we hit the road one mile at a time
of our  over 3,000 mile journey

To find a place much greener

To go down from the mountains

Going through the empty desert

Passing through the rocky mountains

Pausing to rest by the serene lake

Our bones and muscles tired

after 5 long days of driving

From the middle of nowhere

We kept moving to that somewhere

By the New Jersey sea coast

overlooking New York city

To find love and a new family

To gain more respect and honor

Ah, the delight of meeting an old friend

and the joy of making new ones

Finally we are at home

This is truly God's promise land

A land of plenty and bounty

Our souls at rest, our hearts merry

Each new day, a day of wonder

Each new wonder, a sweet encounter!
